Congratulations to Elisabeth Bolund for winning VR Young Investigators 4-year grant, which will allow her to start her own lab after finishing her postdoc in our lab!!!

Congratulations to Martyna Zwoinska who amassed large funding from several sources to finance her 7-month research stay in Tad Kawecki‘s lab in Lausanne, where she will continue her work on sexual selection and the evolution of behavioral and life-history traits! After this, Martyna is coming back to our lab to continue her PhD.

Welcome to Therese Krieg who joined our lab in February 2015 as a research assistant on a collaborative project with Simone Immler‘s lab on sex-specific mutation rates.

latest MSc project

Tao You finished his MSc project: Evolution of same-sex behaviour in male and female beetles, which was jointly supervised by Alexei and David Berger. Congratulations to Tao who conducted two massive selection experiments during his project and produced really exciting results!

Lab News

Short summary of the last three months:

Hanne Carlsson and Mark Ramsden joined the lab as full-time RAs helping out with nematode projects.

Brian Mautz arrived from Canada to work on the role of sexual selection in reducing mutation load. Brian has worked on a variety of different organisms (see his page) and now will be adding nematodes to this list.

Börn Rogell returned from Australia to continue his work on the evolution of gene expression and ageing before starting as Assistant Professor in Stockholm in December.
